Blue: Mowing the Lawn
This is a contemporary miniature painting on handmade wasli paper. The inner painting is done on wasli in watercolour and ink. The outer iconography is done on brown paper with archival pens. In the inner composition, the two headed man, symbolising the US and Israel, is sitting down on a rug holding a weapon. Behind him on the wall are more weapons and a calendar on the wall. The wall behind him has motifs done in gold paint. In front of him are three martyred people (a Palestinian family). There are also barbed wire textures on the wall behind them. The main composition is surrounded by two borders. The inner border has bombs, flora and fauna and the outer one is painted in gold shimmer paint.
The outer brown paper composition mostly has the Palestinian children holding empty pots and pans. There are tents, destroyed buildings, trees, tanks, bombs, animals and barbed wires etc. At the bottom end are the Freedom Flotilla sail boats coming to Gaza for rescue. Opposite to the flotillas are the Gazan fishing boats. The pen drawings are done in a loose flowy manner showing the chaos.
