Bones

This is a self portrait.
Half the face is the younger me, half the older one. The bones are meant to resemble a tree. When a tree cant get the right conditions to grow or find light, it can twist its trunk or branches in unusual directions to find the light and growth it needs. I related to that in my personal life. Accomodating and finding other ways to survive, to find light and health, and to grow. Colour has always been hugely important to me. The colours in the background of the painting reflect the colours I felt represented the different times I went through in my life.
