Demons

I painted this after listening to a song called "Demons" by Imagine Dragons" The chorus says,
"When you feel my heat, look into my eyes,
Its where my demons hide, its where my demons hide.
Dont get too close, its dark inside,
Its where my demons hide, its where my demons hide."
The singer spoke about how he felt an obligation to be vulnerable with his.
I often am not vulnerable with mine. Its like me and many others have this outer part that we let others see, but pretend that our fears, unkind or dark thoughts, greed, anger, trauma, etc dont exist.
In truth we all have some form of these things, but we often cover them up, isolating them from others. Even if we know that others are doing exactly the same thing. It may sometimes be neccessary to do this, but if we were more vulnerable with these parts of ourselves, we may find out that many others feel the same way and we would be less alone. I painted this self portrait from how this song hit me personally.
