Gaza 2023-3, Sole Companion

This is a contemporary miniature painting on wasli handmade paper. This is the third painting in the series of four. There is an inner oval shape containing a lonely child's image along with her only(sole)companion, a Si-murgh. It is done in tea-wash and black ink. There are flowers, two small window within the oval, wavey lines depicting water, and clouds. The oval is surrounded by another shape decorated with poppy flowers and missiles. The outer shape, painted in Indian yellow, has trees, mountains, flowers, missiles and a peacock looking at the missiles. There are white ghostly images within the space portraying lost souls. The oval is hanging by a black and golden rope with the Quranic words showing the children' words of worship going towards the heavens. The same words and their translation is written beneath the painted composition.
