Red: The Hunted

This is a contemporary miniature painting on handmade wasli paper. The inner painting is done on wasli in watercolour and ink. The outer iconography is done on brown paper with archival pens and watercolour wash. In the inner composition, a hunter is sitting down on a rug holding a weapon. Behind him on the wall are more weapons. In front of him are three dead deer (a deer family). The main composition is surrounded by two borders. The inner border has guns, flora and fauna and the outer one is painted in gold shimmer paint.
The outer brown paper composition has a hunting scene with different types of animals running, trying to escape the hunters, the trained hunting cheetas and hunting dogs. At the top are more animals, hills, a royal campsite and a cage. The pen drawings are done in a loose flowy manner showing the chaos.
