SETTING SUN, TREES AND ICE ACROSS THE RIVER ( In Studio)

The title of this painting is called "Setting Sun, Trees and Ice Across the River". It is a 16" x 20" painting created in acrylic watercolour paint on a black canvas. It is framed with a lovely old frame reminiscent of the paintings that were once used by the early Canadian painters like the Group of Seven. I captured this imagery while on a walk along the river before sunset on Dec 17, 2025. The sun was so intense, it was blinding, but it was perfect for casting the reflections of the trees and the sun on the ice with a lovely silhouette of the forest in the background. This painting is bordering on abstraction which is unusual for my choice of style. This may be the beginning of something new in my painting.
