Gloria (Peggy) Somers

Gloria (Peggy) Somers was born in North Bay, Ontario and now resides in Sarnia. She worked for Dow Chemical in the Engineering Dept.
Always having a great interest in drawing and painting, she joined the Sarnia Artist Workshop (S.A.W.) in May 2014. She also paints with the 6+1 group. Her interest in multi-media includes watercolour, acrylics, colour pencils, pastel, graphite and has recently added oils. Her work has been shown at "Gallery in the Grove", Brights Grove, "Art at the Lake Show", Sarnia, "Lawrence House Centre for the Arts", Sarnia "Paint Ontario", Grand Bend and currently showing with the 6+1 Group, in the Art Gallery at the new home of the ISO (International Symphony Orchestra) at 143 Christina St. Sarnia. Gloria's work varies from scenes of travel, animals, sea life, and still life taken mostly from her own photography. She hopes the transformation from a blank sheet of paper or canvas sparks interest and delivers a story with detail and colour.
