Jane Hunter Biography

Jane Hunter is a native of Sarnia and has painted in watercolours for over 40 years.  She is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art 
and was appointed a life member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour in 2007.
Jane has shown widely in Southwestern Ontario as well as in juried exhibitions in Toronto and beyond. Her work is included in corporate
and private collections in Canada and abroad. She was one of ten artists across Ontario and Quebec selected to represent to her city
in the Suncor Crossroads Series of Paintings.
'International Waters” a joint juried exhibition of the C,S,P.W.C.,the American Watercolour Society and the Royal Watercolour Society
included one of Jane’s paintings touring Canada, the U.S. and Britain.
The Canadian Federation of University Women named Jane “Woman of Excellence in the Arts” in 2000 and she was included on the Mayor's
Honour list for outstanding service to the people and City of Sarnia.  In 2002 she was recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal in recognition of
outstanding service, achievement and contribution to the community.
Jane acted as co-campain chairman, raising funds for the inception of the Judith and a Norman Alix Art Gallery which opened in 2002. She 
received two volunteer awards as a consultant at The Gallery in The Grove,Brights Grove, Ontario, and as a member of Board of Directors of the Lawrence House Centre for the Arts.
