A Florence Flask

Fresh out of High school, I was introduced to the Florence flask on my first day as a junior lad assistant. In those days labs made their own reagents and the task was assigned to the most junior members. The round bottom promoted even boiling and the long neck hindered the escape of volatile products. I still love the shape. This 13" high example is crafted with Merino wool and decorated circles of my hand dyed silk reminiscent of the bubbling reagents.
