Rust Scroll This is a sampler of techniques and methods of dyeing fibres and stitching, and attaching different materials (like the lace and bias tape) The fabric used is mostly cotton, linen and cotton canvas as well as cotton based lace. The dyeing was done with rust tea and coffee. Fly stitch, seed stitch, blanket stitch, cross hatch couching are all shown on this piece. It is a fun way to experiment with techniques, and use up materials. This can easily have more added on to the end, or more stitching on the fibres. A stick that I found on a walk is the base for holding it.
