Vessel - Dots hold it

Vessel - "Dots Hold it" is a compilation of 3 different types of fabric, each created in a different way. The first, the pale green background is canvas painted on canvas using a gelli plate and acrylic fabric paints, the second is a piece of printed fabric. The third and fourth pieces are gelli prints on paper, then massaged and manipulated using olive oil to create a more fabric finish. This technique is an ancient Japanese fibre creation called Momigomi or paper kneeding, These 4 pieces are sewn together using a sewing machine. The vessel is lined with a polyester woven fabric to give it strength and form shape. It is finally decorated further with embroidery and couching.
