Diane Nelles was born and raised in Nakina, Ontario, a small town northeast of Thunder Bay. Art was always a passion, from early childhood through high school art classes. After graduation putting her love of art aside, expressing her creativity by sewing, herbal crafts, and gardening. When her two children left home, Diane returned to sketching and painting.
During the summer of 2016, Diane decided to challenge herself by adding acrylics to her studio. With these vivid, exciting colours she works in a much looser style, creating bold and exciting compositions as opposed to her softer, detailed work with watercolour.
Most recently Diane has incorporated two of her passions: painting and sewing. She designs useful items such as tote and wine bags, using her artwork and other creative processes to create unique accessories.
Diane is a member of “The 6 plus 1 Art Group”, and the “Sarnia Artists' Workshop”
